Experience the best of Finnmark with our carefully curated packages. A combination of nature, local flavours, comfort and authentic Northern Norwegian experiences
The dogs are the heart of everything we do. We always put their welfare first and want to share the joy of activities with our dogs, the nature and life in the north with our guests.
I have worked as a chef my whole life, and since 2005 I have had the pleasure of creating food based on local ingredients from Finnmark. Through food experiences, courses and dinners at Trasti & Trine I want to share the flavours, stories and traditions from the north with you.
Stay comfortably in the guesthouse or our cabins, close to nature and life on the farm. Here you will find peace, warmth and genuine northern experiences.
Locally sourced ingredients and honest flavours. Experience the story behind the meal in our kitchen. Welcome home to us.

Forkprint is built on a simple recognition: no business exists alone. We live in society, with people, and from nature. Society gives us a sense of belonging, collaboration and the opportunity to create value. People give us knowledge, care, creativity and community. Nature gives us the resources, experiences and the foundation for everything we do. These three are not separate parts but depend on one another. Through Forkprint we want to strengthen the relationship between them so that value creation also contributes to vibrant local communities, the development of people and the responsible stewardship of the nature we all are part of. That is why we give back 1% of our revenue to the city we love, the people we care about, and the nature we love.
Trasti & Trine does not exist outside Alta. We are part of the place, of everyday life, of the seasons and of the people who live here. Therefore Forkprint is also about how we participate in the community around us. Not as a campaign or a side project, but as a natural extension of belonging.

Trasti & Trine is built by people, with different backgrounds, experience and pace. Through Forkprint we want to create a working environment where people are seen, given responsibility and can develop over time. With people is about respect, safety, learning and community, but also about expectations, clear frameworks and pride in the work. The quality guests encounter always begins with the people who carry the whole.
Trasti & Trine is built by nature, not just surrounded by it. Through Forkprint we acknowledge that the landscape, the seasons, the animals and the raw materials are the very foundation of our enterprise. Of nature is about working with respect for nature's rhythm, taking responsibility for the traces we leave behind and letting nature be a premise for the choices we make, not just a backdrop to the experiences we offer.
The Trasti & Trine Forkprint Foundation is managed in accordance with the statutes.
Since October 2025 we at Trasti & Trine have set aside a share of our revenue. The intention has been a gift contribution to the foundation so that, from autumn 2026, we could initiate our goal of becoming an even more visible contributor in the local community.
During the summer of 2026 we will allocate 1% of our revenue to the Foundation. The intention is to create a dedicated reserve so we can genuinely make a difference. An agreement will be drawn up between Trasti & Trine AS and the Trasti & Trine Forkprint Foundation describing the specific terms. This agreement will be made available for review so we can maintain transparency in our work.
As this is entirely new—even for us—we do not currently have many images to show, but these will be added over time as the initiative develops.
We look forward to involving all our guests and partners in the work going forward.

The Trasti & Trine Forkprint Foundation was established to take care of something larger than a business alone. For many years Johnny Trasti and Trine Lyrek have built Trasti & Trine based on values such as respect for people, care for nature, pride in craft and a desire to contribute positively to the community around them.
We believe strong communities are built from the ground up. Through local engagement, jobs, learning, knowledge sharing, meeting places and people who see and lift each other up. Therefore Trasti & Trine Forkprint Foundation aims to work both on concrete projects and on long-term influence. Sometimes this will concern nature and biodiversity. Other times it will concern youth, learning, inclusion or local culture. The common denominator is the desire to strengthen the relationship between people, community and nature.
The Forkprint values were not created through strategy documents or marketing plans. They have emerged through lived experience, through work, through missteps and learning, and through a life close to people, animals and nature.
The foundation is established to ensure that these values do not disappear as the world changes. Enterprises evolve. New people join. New leaders take responsibility. New opportunities, challenges and priorities arise. This is both natural and necessary. At the same time, we know that what is not stewarded over time can gradually lose its original direction. The Trasti & Trine Forkprint Foundation is therefore intended to act as a long-term steward of the principles that have shaped the enterprise from the start — not to prevent development, but to ensure that development happens with respect for the roots it springs from.
Through Forkprint the foundation builds on a simple recognition: no enterprise exists alone. We live in the community, with people and of nature. Therefore we also believe that value creation entails a responsibility. A responsibility to give back to the people around us. A responsibility to contribute to strong and vibrant local communities. And a responsibility to steward the nature that provides the basis for work, experiences and quality of life.
This responsibility is not only about the environment. It is also about people. Even in one of the world's wealthiest countries there are people who experience exclusion, loneliness, limited opportunities or financial challenges. In the periphery of Norway and Europe these challenges are often experienced more acutely. Therefore the foundation aims to be an active contributor to creating opportunities, strengthening communities and building bridges between people.
At the same time we want the foundation to be larger than ourselves. Although the foundation stems from Trasti & Trine, the ambition is to invite others in: local businesses, partners, organisations and individuals. Everyone who shares the belief that value creation also involves a responsibility to give something back. We do not believe the biggest changes happen alone. They happen when people and enterprises join forces around a common direction.
For us, Forkprint is precisely about this: taking care of what is valuable, strengthening what makes local communities vibrant, investing in people, respecting the nature we live in, with and of, and ensuring that the traces we leave behind become something future generations can build on.
