A Piece of Alaska, at Home in Alta
Alaska holds a very special place in the hearts of Hanna and Trine. Hanna was born in Alaska, and through life with dogs and the Iditarod, the place has taken on a special meaning for them both. The historic building, one of the first cabins to be rebuilt in Alta after World War II, has long been part of the city’s history. Through the legacy of the Finnmark Race, Hanna and Trine have been given the opportunity to bring Alaska into their own story and give the place new life.
At Alaska Bar, we welcome you in from the cold. Here you can settle in, feel the warmth from the fireplace, and choose the music from among more than 200 LPs on the record player. We serve homemade meat delicacies and local cheese, together with a drink of your choice.
When you have found your calm and acquired a taste for the evening, the journey continues to the restaurant, where a five-course taste of Finnmark menu awaits. An evening that begins with history, music, and great flavors, and continues around the table.
