Lunch with foraging

The seasons in Finnmark are intense and full of flavor. When summer finally arrives, nature comes alive around the clock. Wild salmon migrate up the Alta River, rhubarb grows in the garden and birch sap is tapped directly from the trees. In the forest we find edible plants such as ostrich fern and sorrel. Today's lunch is waiting out in nature — will you join us?

Our food and bar courses

I have worked as a chef my whole life, and since 2005 I have had the pleasure of creating food based on local ingredients from Finnmark. Through food experiences, courses and dinners at Trasti & Trine I want to share the flavours, stories and traditions from the north with you.

Arctic flavors from nature

Trasti & Trine invites you to a different kind of cooking course, focused on harvesting and preparing nature's seasonal ingredients. You'll receive an introduction to what this season has to offer, what is edible, where to find it, and how to use it in your cooking.

Prepare for the taste experience

Join us for a calm and flavorful experience here on the grounds, where we explore edible plants and ingredients from the surrounding nature. We recommend weather-appropriate clothing so you can fully enjoy your time outdoors and the experience, whether the sun is shining or the Arctic wind is making its presence felt.

What awaits you at the table

  • Join one of our chefs to go out and forage some of the day's ingredients from the nature around us
  • Prepare an exciting three-course lunch together in the outdoor kitchen or inside the gamma
  • Enjoy the meal outdoors or inside the gamma, depending on the weather.
  • You can purchase drinks that pair with the food during the meal

Two ways to experience the adventure

We offer both public and private tours. On our "public" tours there will be up to twelve guests, and you'll have the opportunity to meet other adventurers from around the world.
For private tours you book all the spots, whether you're traveling alone or with friends and family. You get a guide at your disposal, and everything is tailored to your wishes – flexible in terms of start and end points, as well as the activity's duration.
