What is Trasti & Trine's Forkprint
Forkprint is the sum of experiences, values and actions built by the hands of Johnny Trasti and Trine Lyrek, and carried on by the people working here today. It was not developed as a concept on a drawing board, but has grown out of lived work, slow choices, missteps, learning and commitment. This is not a finished system, and it never will be.
Forkprint is an ongoing work, constantly in motion, where direction matters more than a definitive answer. Much like the Sagrada Família in Barcelona, it is the whole, the craftsmanship and the intention that give meaning, not the act of being finished.
For us Forkprint is a living whole, anchored under the Trasti & Trine name and logo. It is not a side project, but an integrated part of how we think, work and develop—every day.
Forkprint encompasses everything from how we make food and choose ingredients, to how we collaborate with the people, the ingredients and the stories behind the experience, teach craft, welcome guests, develop our staff and respond to a changing world. Each part can stand alone, but together they give a clear picture of who we are and what we want to contribute.
This is our relationship to meahcci, which in Sámi can be understood as a life in, with and of nature — a symbiosis built on responsibility, respect and reciprocity. Forkprint is therefore a holistic framework for operations, values and responsibility. It is where our guiding principles—living, robust and creative—take practical meaning in the way we make choices, meet people, develop the business and relate to the nature we live in, with and from.
