Baking course

On the baking course you smell the scent of freshly baked bread as we work with simple, high-quality ingredients and traditional techniques. We knead, shape and let the dough develop, and you take part in the entire process from start to finished bake. Along the way we share small tips that make a big difference to flavor and the final result. At the end we gather and taste what we have made together.

Our food and bar courses

I have worked as a chef my whole life, and since 2005 I have had the pleasure of creating food based on local ingredients from Finnmark. Through food experiences, courses and dinners at Trasti & Trine I want to share the flavours, stories and traditions from the north with you.

Knead bread

Start your baking journey here with simple, high-quality ingredients and traditional methods. We go through basic techniques such as kneading, proofing and shaping, and show how small details can make a big difference in flavor and results.

Together we bake a variety of breads and pastries, and you'll take part in the whole process from dough to finished product. Along the way we share tips and tricks from the kitchen, and finally we gather to taste what we have made together.

Storytelling

We start all courses by explaining the annual cycle we use — when we harvest ingredients, from birch sap in May to the last mushrooms we pick. We tell stories about the nature around us, about Arctic plants and vegetation, how we use them and how we preserve them, including fermentation, drying and salting.

Two ways to experience the adventure

We offer both public and private tours. On our "public" tours there will be up to twelve guests, and you'll have the opportunity to meet other adventurers from around the world.
For private tours you book all the spots, whether you're traveling alone or with friends and family. You get a guide at your disposal, and everything is tailored to your wishes – flexible in terms of start and end points, as well as the activity's duration.
