Facility-specific Guarantee of Origin

For Trasti & Trine, the collaboration with Ishavskraft is about putting action behind words. By choosing facility-specific Guarantees of Origin from a power plant in Finnmark, we take a clear step in our work to reduce our footprint, strengthen local value creation and demonstrate that responsibility for the nature we live in, with, and from must be followed up in practice.

To put action behind our words about being a resilient and environmentally conscious tourism business — and to underscore that we mean what we say — choosing facility-specific Guarantees of Origin from a power plant in Finnmark through Ishavskraft was a natural next step for us. For Trasti & Trine, this is first and foremost about being someone you can rely on. Rely on us to continuously challenge ourselves to do more, and not to stop and declare the work finished. As a tourism company in the Arctic region, we are fully aware that our operations can appear contradictory, and precisely for that reason it is crucial for us to work uncompromisingly to reduce our footprint and improve our choices over time.

The decision to choose locally documented renewable electricity is built on many years of work by the entire Trasti & Trine team. Led by Johnny Trasti and Trine Lyrek, Trasti & Trine have gone through several processes to challenge our own impact on the nature we live in, with, and from. By keeping this work alive internally, we aim to ensure that employees at all times are conscious of how our choices affect the surroundings, while we continue to deliver experiences of the highest possible quality to our guests.

Electricity supply is not our area of expertise, and this is exactly where Ishavskraft has become a crucial partner. For us it has been important to work with an actor who not only supplies power, but who can also guide us closely through the process, provide advice and make complex choices understandable in practice. Whether it has been brainstorming around our restaurant lunch table or ongoing follow-up on prices, markets and solutions, Ishavskraft has made it possible for us to take this step with confidence.

We experience that Ishavskraft, as a clear contributor to the local community in Alta, shares our view on long-term responsibility and local value creation. Choosing a partner that both has a local presence and documented work on its own climate and environmental goals has therefore been decisive for us. When the work to reduce our own footprint is demanding, it is important to know that we are pulling in the same direction. Rikki Nielsen – General Manager, Trasti & Trine

At Trasti & Trine, memorable guest experiences are our livelihood. At Ishavskraft, we see it as the delivery of power and high-quality service. We strongly believe that our different strengths, combined with mutual recognition, can reduce the relationship between customer and supplier to a genuine collaboration and partnership toward a common goal.

As far as we understand, there are few businesses in general, and even fewer of our size, that choose documented and locally anchored energy solutions like this. For us it is a way to reinforce the ambition to be a leading example, not only within our own industry but more broadly when it comes to responsible consumption of natural resources.

This makes Ishavskraft a natural partner for us, both today and in the future, as Trasti & Trine increasingly wish to position themselves as a clear contributor to the community of Alta, to the local residents, and to the nature we live in, with, and from.
